Rishi is an Associate – Institutional Relations at EMBARQ India. He is based in Mumbai and overlooks development of projects in Mumbai, liaising with the local government and other institutions involved in public transport development.

Rishi coordinates interactions with key stakeholders for the walking environment improvement project and Metro accessibility being carried out in one of the biggest business districts in Mumbai. He is responsible for inputting into the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system being planned for Mumbai and plays a supporting role to the work on improvements in the auto rickshaw sector.

Rishi has more than a decade of experience with various urban issues in Mumbai as a civic activist. He has been involvement in a number of campaigns on governance and improving the quality of life in Mumbai. He has been involved in several transport initiatives. His efforts on creating awareness about the importance of conserving the coastal mangrove forests in Mumbai have been pioneering and effective.

Rishi was Chief Operations Officer at Koolpool, India’s first organised car-pooling service, and was the founding member of the Mumbai Environmental Social Network. He has been actively involved in stimulating debate and advocacy on Mumbai’s BRT system. Strongly supportive of political involvement, Rishi contested the parliamentary elections in 2009. In recognition of his work, he was selected for the International Visitors Leadership Program by the US Department of State in 2007.

Rishi is a graduate in Economics from the University of Mumbai.
