The Bangalore Metropolitan Land Authority, in partnership with EMBARQ and other international and local partners, will be hosting a Cycling Initiative Workshop on January 31, 2009 in Bangalore, India.
The purpose is to share international best practices of cycle-inclusive planning and cycling trends in key cities in India, specifically to develop projects and technical solutions needed to make Bangalore the "cycling capital" of India.
With mild year-round weather and a high percentage of short trip lengths, Bangalore is well-suited to adopt cycling as a sustainable transport alternative to reduce congestion and improve urban air quality.
