The Latin American Association of Integrated Systems and BRT (SIBRT) brings together Latin America’s most influential Integrated Transport Systems and BRT agencies. SIBRT is present in 19 cities of 8 countries, which together comprise more than 95 million urban inhabitants. Our Associates provide public transit services to more than 20 million riders per day on more than 700 kilometers of exclusive routes (bus corridors) and a fleet with more than 30,000 vehicles.
The Association is committed to an approach of integration of all modes of transport to achieve “High Quality Urban Public Transportation for All.” SIBRT proactively promotes the adoption of integrated transport systems and BRT as the most secure, efficient and sustainable urban transport solutions.
SIBRT works with a benchmarking methodology and through capacity building of organizational and technical skills, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and the development of "best practices" for the substantial improvement in the planning, management, standardization and operation of urban public transportation. Curitiba is the headquarters of the Association. URBS was elected to serve as the President of SIBRT. EMBARQ serves as the General Secretariat.
