India's National Urban Transport Policy
A Framework For Investing in Mass Transit

EMBARQ informed and facilitated the adoption of India’s first national sustainable transport policy by collaborating directly with India’s Ministry of Urban Development and bringing together experts and government officials from around the world. The national policy sets the guidelines for cities that want to receive money from the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, a national fund of US$11 billion for bus rapid transit (BRT) and other sustainable urban transport projects. Already, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, and Pune have received this funding and are implementing BRT systems.
