In March 2009, Guadalajara--the second largest city in Mexico--celebrated the launch of a brand new bus rapid transit (BRT) system, known as Macrobús.

Featuring a sleek image and sophisticated design elements, Macrobús is the first BRT system in the state of Jalisco. Only two months after its launch, the system has proven to be a successful model of high quality, low cost and quickly implemented mass transit.
